Barbara Beauchamp of Darrington, WA, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2014. She was greeted by The Lord, her husband Ray, daughter Edna Green, parents Toby and Elzina Freese, brothers Arthur and Lawrence, sisters Gail Esperson and Earla Strotz, and her many special family and friends.
Barbara was born on the family ranch at Jim Creek in Arlington, WA on May 10, 1927. She spent her summers with her special “mom,” Aggie Lungstrin and her sons, Bud & Bob. She worked in ferries at Winslow, and the Army Corp of Engineers, where she met and married Ray Beauchamp. They enjoyed 54 years together raising their five children and being proprietors of many businesses. She is survived by her sons, Ray (Barbara) Beauchamp of Arlington, WA; Shawn Beauchamp of Palmer, AK; daughters Dee Dee (Jerry) Burnell of Arlington, WA and Diane Moore of Kenai, AK; grandchildren Renae, Robby, Travis, Jessica, Trudy, Aron, Kelsie, Gale, Lamar, Sarah and Shane; 12 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Carol (Roy) Bryson of Darrington, WA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and dear family friends who she loved and enjoyed spending time with camping, cooking, eating her sweets, mountain trips on horses, elk hunting trips with the Bryson’s, fishing Lost Creek, picking blackberries in her secret patches, mushroom picking, and her passion of picking cones and being a Cone Producer for Silvaseed Co. She was in her height of glory spending time with her pickers and especially Michael, her boss, affectionately arguing about whom was really the boss, which got him nowhere!
Barbara was the eldest member of the Snoqualmie Tribe and was very proud of her heritage. She spent 4 years on the Hospital Board for the tribe and looked forward to going to the weekly meetings.
Special Thanks go out to ones who made her last years enjoyable, son-in-law Jerry (Asshole), who couldn’t do anything without her giving him hell; Snoqualmie Tribe; Dr. Marescia; Kate Miller; Leeside Daycare Manor (who spoiled her rotten); drivers for the Snoqualmie Tribe; grandsons Aron and Gale and granddaughter Kelsie who had so much patience and took so much time out of their lives to do for and take care of her. She was so proud of her great-grandchildren who would make her feel loved with kisses and hugs; great grandson Malachi Gemmer, who nicknamed her Pumpkin Pie Grandma; her grandchildren, and she took great pleasure being with them; Toby Strotz, who she loved and trusted, he’d do anything for her chocolate pies or shrimp; Christie Jacobs, who would get phone calls from her at 5am; Roy Bryson, for trying to make her happy with her affairs; Lynda Zambrano, for making her feel special.
