Carol Ann Denton (née Porter), age 80, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, in Arlington, Washington.
Born on March 15, 1945, in Portland, Oregon, Carol grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest—a setting that would inspire a lifelong love of nature and the outdoors. Her appreciation for the world around her blossomed into cherished pastimes such as gardening and birdwatching, which brought her joy and serenity throughout her life.
Carol shared her talents and passions generously with those around her. A gifted seamstress and avid crafter, she found fulfillment in creating beautiful things by hand. Whether gardening, sewing, or crafting with friends in her community, Carol’s creativity was matched only by her warmth and willingness to share her skills. Her garden reflected her nurturing spirit—vibrant, welcoming, and lovingly tended.
Beyond her hobbies, Carol was known for her deep compassion and commitment to others. She touched many lives through volunteer work and acts of kindness extended to friends, neighbors, and family alike. Her gentle presence and giving heart left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carol is survived by the love of her life and husband, Roy Denton; her daughter Deborah Scott; and two beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Amber Scott, who shared many of life’s joys with her. She now joins her parents, Dorothy Mills and Virgil Porter, who preceded her in passing.
Carol’s legacy lives on in the beauty she created, the kindness she gave so freely, and the memories held dear by those who knew and loved her. May her memory bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Sarvey Wildlife Care Center, in Carol's memory. https://www.sarveywildlife.org/donate.aspx or https://www.sarveywildlife.org/visit-our-shop.aspx?itemid=3305&pagetitle=Shop-To-Support
