Fred V Evans

Fred V. Evans, 90, passed to be with his Lord Jesus April 30, 2014 in Everett, WA. He was born to Virgel and Bessie Evans April 26, 1924 in Howe, OK. After serving in the U.S. Navy as a naval airman first class during World War II he settled in Arlington, WA. He drove heavy equipment for the Snohomish County Road Dept. for 22 years, retiring in 1986. Fred enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was a member of the Arlington Free Methodist Church. Fred was a generous, loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Preceding him in death were his siblings; Paul Evans, Murray Evans, Bertha McDaniel, Bonita Manifold and Edythe Parks. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Clara Alice Evans of Arlington; his children Neil (Teresa) Evans of Mount Vernon, WA, Betty (Dale) Soden of Marysville, WA; brother-in-law Bill Harvey; grandchildren, Mark Evans, David (Alicia) Evans, Rob (Laura) Evans, Brett Soden and 5 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014, 1-5 p.m. and May 9, 2014, 10-11 a.m. at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave., Arlington, WA. A funeral service will follow the second view at 11 a.m. A Graveside service will be held following at 1:30 p.m. at Arlington Municipal Cemetery.
