

Born April 16, 1918 in Kane, WY, to William H. Dickson and Edna S. Despain. He married Helen Baird from Cowley in 1940. They moved to Tacoma, WA at the start of WWII where he worked in the shipyards. After the war, he worked in logging and road building while in Enumclaw. In 1960 he moved his family to Arlington, where he continued to work in road construction and for Summit Timber until retiring.
John passed away Mon., Sept. 29th at age 96 in the home that they built in ’68. He is survived by wife, Helen, of 74 years, son, Lynn (Sharon) Dickson of Arlington, WA, son John B. (Delores) Dickson of Gilbert, AZ, daughter Doris (Knude) Swensen of Dickinson, ND, daughter Vivian (David) Wright of Arlington, WA, son Roy (Karen) Dickson of Orem, UT, 31 grandchildren, 107 great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way), 5 great-great-grandchildren, and brother, Robert Jared (Mary) Dickson of Arlington, WA.
His funeral will be Sat., Oct. 11th at 1pm in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (on the corner of SR 530 and Arlington Hts. Rd., Arlington, WA 98223). The viewing will be at Weller Funeral Home on Fri., Oct. 10th, 6:30-8:30pm (327 N. MacLeod Ave., Arlington, WA 98223).
