John Erling Jensen Jr.

Born on December 2, 1942, John lived a life defined by service, devotion to family, and steady determination. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, building a career marked by discipline, integrity, and commitment. Following his retirement from the Air Force, John continued his working life with more than 20 years at Boeing, where he carried the same work ethic and quiet professionalism that characterized all he did.

In the mid-1980s, John and his beloved wife, Jonna Karsten Jensen, built the family home on Camano Island where she continues to reside — a place that became the heart of countless gatherings and memories. Together they built not just a house, but a life centered around faithfulness, resilience, and love.

John was preceded in death by his son, Johnny, who passed away in 2018. He is survived by his wife Jonna; his son Bob Jensen and wife Lora, along with their children Sarah, Clayton, Luke, and daughter Cholie; and his son Erik Jensen and wife Sabrena, along with their daughters Erika, Emily, and Abigail. He is also survived by his brothers, Gary Jackson, Dale Jackson, and Dustin Olson. His family was his greatest pride and joy.

Outside of work, John had a deep curiosity and appreciation for the world around him. He was an avid reader of thrillers and an accomplished HAM radio operator for more than 60 years, earning numerous awards and distinctions for making contacts with fellow operators across the globe. Through his radio, he built friendships that spanned continents. He also loved gardening, fishing, and traveling the country in their fifth wheel with their Good Sam group, spending winters snowbirding in Arizona. Whether at home or on the road, John cherished time spent with family and friends.

Those who knew John will remember his steady presence, thoughtful nature, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the example he set, and the deep love he had for his family.
