I am so very sorry for the loss of Marian. She was a big part of my formative years as we lived across the lake from her and her family. RIP Marian and I pray that your family finds comfort at this time.

My Aunt Marian was an Aunt that lived closest to us in Western Washington. I will treasure the memories of playing cards with the girls, holidays with my cousins at the lake house, and the early Sunday mornings, when Sunday school was a must. I know my Aunt Marian gained her wings and is sitting next to our Father, as she definately earned her wings with her faith in God through the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Rest  in Peace, Aunt Marian. My deepest heartfelt condolences to my cousins and family. “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near so loved, so missed, so very dear.”

I will miss my Aunt Marian. She was my advocate when I entered politics and helped me introduce policy issues for the disabled community by connecting me with politicians who cared.

My Aunt was a God-fearing lady with a kind heart and a strong will to get things done. She never gave up on those she loved, both in hard times and good times, and she loved unconditionally. However, she also had limits and set boundaries and expectations for those she loved.

A true courageous woman. I miss you, my angel of grace.

I remember Marian telling me that the crocus was her favorite flower because it was the first to bloom after winter and she often found it on her birthday in April.  She was truly a Dakota girl raised on the prairie!

Growing up on the family ranch in North Dakota Marian (left) had a high spirited and very fast black and white welch pony named Buttons.  Marian rode him the four miles to and from a one room school with no problems controlling him.  Buttons won the open horse race at the Grant County Fair at Carson, North Dakota.  She was very fond of Buttons.
