Sigrid: A Name meaning: “Beautiful Victory”, And her life was just that, A Beautiful Victory!
Named after her father Sigurd Jensen, Sigrid was born in Gardiner Maine and raised in Chelsea Maine by her Grandparents, Ernest and Carol White. In 1956, as a young Mother, Sigrid traveled with her young son Kip, Cousin Rose, and Rose’s young son Jimmy to the West Coast. She was a graduate of the Lincoln Business School in Maine and after a few different jobs, she eventually found and worked several years at the Metropolitan Press in Seattle.
It was in Seattle, that she met and married Glenn Arnold. Together they raised a family of seven children, along with her younger brother.
Sigrid “Siggi” lived a “Life on Purpose”. In retirement, Sigrid loved her social life with friends, playing cards, reading, traveling and anything “Arts and Crafts”. From Ceramics, flower making, silver smithing and card making. All she loved were recipients of her hand-made (made with Love) cards. Most of all, she loved her family and her favorites were her “littles”.
I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, along with many kisses was her signature greeting!!!!
Sigrid is Pre-deceased by her husband: Glenn Arnold, 6 Children: Dianne Todd, Garren Arnold, Glendine Tinder, Sandi Jo Schrank, Sharmaine Jorgenson, Kip Arnold, younger brother Charles Sidney Haskelll, Grandson Rod Anthony, Grandparents Ernest and Carol White, Mother, Nona Zazle Fowles and her beloved Uncle Bud.
She leaves behind her loving companion of 20 years, Tom Marak, Son Terry (Nancie) Arnold, 20+Grandchildren, 35+ Great Grandchildren, and 23+ Great Great Grandchildren, Son-in-law Phil Schrank and Daughters in law (whom she considered special Friends) Jan Janzen and Cecci (Keith) Huetson, as well as her {Maine Family}: Aunt Janie, Cousins and many friends.
There will be a small Celebration of Life Service for Family to be announced.
