

Anna Lea Schnapp, of Arnold, Missouri, passed away on September 28 after a long battle with lung cancer. Born Feb. 28, 1937 in St. Louis, Anna Lea Tschudin spent much of her childhood in Kinsey MO, now called Bloomsdale. Her family moved back to St. Louis in 1951 and she graduated from Cleveland High School in 1953 at the age of 16 after being promoted twice. She then began her career in banking at the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis. She married Robert J. Schnapp Dec. 16, 1955. She became Vice President at Mercantile Bank. She earned her real estate license and worked at Ozark Realty and also served as Human Resources Director at Consumer Credit Counseling. After retirement, Anna volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was very active with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Robert “Bob” Schnapp; brother Bill Tschudin and his wife JoAnn of Festus; daughters Sherry “Rae” Schnapp and Tracy Hanephin; son-in-law Jeffrey M. Smith; five grandchildren: Colin, Kyle, and Cody Hanephin, and Audrey and Rachel Smith, grand-dog Lola, as well as loving cousins and nieces and nephews. Anna is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Blanche Tschudin (nee Whitacre) and her sister Audrey Banjai and her husband Nick.
We will celebrate her life on Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 10-12 with a funeral service immediately following at noon. All arrangements are at the Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home at 1081 Jeffco Blvd in Arnold. No procession or graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please support Meals on Wheels at the Mid-East Area Agency on Aging.
