Donald Davis Akins, formerly of Bloomsdale, Missouri, passed away on August 23, 2014 in Braderton, Florida at the age of 90. He is survived by his grandchildren: James Piller Jr., Chris (Lonnie) Williams, Jeff (Lisa) Piller, Mary (Frank) Schafer, Karen (Patrick) Meyer and Sharon (Richard) Simpson. Mr. Akins has nine great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Ethel Akins.
He was the son of the late Lewis and Bertha (nee: Erb) Akins. His loving wife was the late Doris (nee: Kemp) Akins. He was preceded in death by his son, James (Marcella) Piller, Sr. and one great granddaughter, his siblings: Rhoda Akins, Flossie(Jessie) Eades, Mary (Jim) Harman, Albert Akins, Raymond (Mae) Akins, Robert (Rosie) Akins, Edgar (Dorothy) Akins and Joel Akins.
Mr. Akins's Committal Service will be held at the Akins Family Cemetery in Bloomsdale, Missouri on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
