Jim, my time at Pandjiris was short, but I'll never forget your kindness and legendary professionalism. You were loved by many, passed down priceless knowledge, and were dedicated to the bone. You are greatly missed, my deepest condolences to your family.

I  Worked with Jimmy 40 years ago and knew his lovely wife. He was a Manufacturing Engineer at Combustion Engineering before it shut down.
 We were on a team that was sent to California to help break a strike at Conn Edison. On our way back home we stopped in Las Vegas and were taught how to play Black Jack. Jimmy could not play  to beat the dealer, as with everything he did, he played his own game. Needless to say we did not win any money. 
My deepest sympathy to the family on his passing. 

To say farewell…..is hard. Jim and I traded words almost daily, for he was much a part of my life as the air I breathe. To accept that I will not see him anymore is truly painful. I am washed with emotion for all his presence and memories are around me. The light of his existence moves strongly in my life. Together we endured much, journeyed thousands of miles, shared laughter, and many smiles. Such a bright soul, anyone given the gift of his time knew quickly his light heart and generous spirit. Let those who knew this rejoice in the gift he was for the time we had him. Jim Sears was more than a friend, he was like a brother, and I shall miss him greatly.

As President of Pandjiris I believe I can speak for everyone at the Company in saying, we have missed Jim since he retired and will miss him even more since his passing.

Jim worked for Pandjiris as a Senior Mechanical Engineer & Facilities Engineer for 35 years, until January 2019.  He designed standard products and large, heavy custom equipment, everything from large turning roll systems that could turn 400,000 lbs., to rail car positioners, manipulators with 40' boom length, a 22' welding seamer, a 30' elevating manlift, 20' diameter turntable, and a 250 ton turntable to name a few, for customers ranging from truck and trailer building to aerospace, located all over the world including China, Russia and the Middle East. 

Besides designing equipment, Jim would roll up his sleeves and assist production personnel, and occasionally supervise the installation or personally install the equipment at end user sites. Many customers expressed their appreciation of his knowledge, customer service and helpful attitude. 

For Pandjiris, Jim managed maintenance and demolitions, and he designed and often performed plant & equipment upgrades and renovations. He also helped set up for Company events and luncheons. He enjoyed nothing more than helping others, willing to do whatever needed to be done and more. 

He was charitable, trustworthy, respectful, and respectable.

I worked at Pandjiris with Jimmy for over 30 years.   Jimmy was a very good Engineer and would always help anyone with anything.    He was always the man with the answer, or would find out what it is if he did not have the answer.  

Even after retirement, Jimmy would come by the office and he would always put a smile on your face when he came by to visit.  I will always remember Jimmy as a good person and considerate of others around him.

Jimmy will be missed.    RIP Jimmy.

Worked with Jim for 16 years ending in 2003. Last saw him about 15 years ago when he showed up at my home to show me his new Harley-Davidson! We called ourselves the A Team because we went together on many service calls in the US - and maybe because we were both "Jim".
Jim was always very kind and considerate, honorable, respectful and respectable and enjoyed having a good laugh. People reading this know he was a good friend to all who knew him.
I never had any conflict with Jim but want to share a story. We were in the hot, swampy Morgan City, LA reworking some equipment and drenched in sweat. I was on a ladder and he was below. I said something and then realized he had taken his hearing aids out so they did not get wet. No-one else was around so I just cussed him out as hard as I could. He did not hear me then, but I suspect he can hear me now. What a great guy!
