Jerry Eugene Askren, age 74, of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. Jerry was born May 1, 1947 in Evansville, IN to the late Pinkney and Mary (nee Burns) Askren; beloved husband of Bridget Askren (nee Higgins) loving father of Laura (Keith) Dalman, Andrew (Linda) Askren and the late Christopher Askren; loving grandfather of Cristofer, Bayleigh, Meckenzie, Joshua and Sara; great grandfather of Adeline, Arya and Maggie; dear brother of Fayetta (Scott) Hopkins, Dortha (Steve) Grouse and the late Ollie, Raymond and Daniel Askren; dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Jerry was a member of the Masonic Lodge #69 AF&AM and the Eastern Star Sullivan Chapter #105. He enjoyed motorcycle riding.
A visitation for Jerry will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold, MO 63010. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan, Jefferson Barracks, MO 63125 with full Military Honors. Eastern Star service will be held on Monday December 13, 2021, 7:00 pm with a Masonic service immediately following. Memorial donations in Jerry's Honor may be made to Duo Service Dogs, 10955 Linpage Rd. St. Louis, MO 63132.
