Family gatherings on holidays and June birthdays will always be a cherished memory of Mike. 

Watch out mermaids and fish.  With John Hinrichs in his boat, and Mike is the captain.  A brave man.

And no, the Towel Man did not have a beard or mustache.  Sorry Ron.

Mike around 6th grade.  Starting to have his dad's attitude at the same age.

Mike and Paul share a really big tree (Burr oak) at Big Oak Tree State park.

Mike could fish and he could hunt, and he never let you forget it.  The bass was caught on a cork and worm rig, and it beat all entries in the bass tournament on Wappapello Lake that weekend.

He was born with the Mooney arm.  He threw a rock across he Missouri River at Missouri Headwaters park in Montana in 2006 at the age of 15, and his dad couldn't do it.

Mike is blessed with grandparents!  Top, Inger Herold, maternal grandmother, middle Edward B. Mooney, paternal grandfather also with Kim, the firstborn granddaughter, bottom Loretta Mooney, who is not looking at the camera because Mike is more interesting.

A photo of Trout Lake in Glacier National Park, MT.  Mike and Paul hiked with me to this lake high in the mountains in August 2006.  We never forgot the hail, sleet, snow and rain that came in as we were hiking back to the road, 7 miles away.  Blowing whistles to warn bears of our approach soon gave way to trying to stay dry and warm.

I was devastated when I heard the news..   I have so many fond early childhood  memories of Mike and Tyler.  From boy scouts, to camping to playing baseball or just having fun together.  I am truly heartbroken and pray that you find peace and comfort during this difficult time.
