Robert Guy Derickson passed away on October 5, 2021 at Scenic Nursing Home in Herculaneum. He was 85 years old. "Bob" was born August 14, 1936 in Hematite, Missouri, the oldest son of H. Guy and Henrietta Derickson. He attended Herculaneum High School, class of 1954, from which he met his high school sweetheart Shirley Glatt. They married in 1956, recently celebrating their 65th year of marriage. Bob was a U.S. Air Force veteran, obtaining the rank of staff sergeant. After military service he became a truck driver primarily for Kroger and ABF until his retirement, and acquired many friends in that capacity.
Bob was preceded in death by his baby daughter Cynthia in 1960, and by his sister Peggy Aubuchon Brandel around 10 years ago. He is survived by his wife Shirley, his sons Raye with his wife Nancy, and Alan Derickson. His grandchildren are Brian Derickson with his wife Elizabeth, "Tad" Derickson with his wife Madori, and Kate Felchlia with her husband Jeremiah Wudel. His great grandchildren from Brian and Liz are Riley age 11, Lucas age 9 and Lydia age 7. Bob is also survived by his younger brother Melvin Derickson of Beavercreek, Ohio.
The funeral service will be held at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, Missouri on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at the Schlueter Family Cemetery in Imperial, Missouri at 1:00 p.m.
