Archie Banner Johnson

Archie was a man of many interests and passions. He had a deep love for collecting guns and enjoyed following his favorite sports teams: the Browns, Indians, and Buckeyes. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his family. Archie also took pride in his gardening and cherished the time he spent nurturing his plants and flowers.

He is survived by his children, Kim (Larry) Myers, Karen Osborn, and Kellie Johnson; his grandchildren, Travis Myers, Joshua (Abigail) Myers, Tenisha (Tim) Harper, Adam Shambaugh, Andrew (Jessica) Flickinger, Aaron (Amanda) Shambaugh; seventeen great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ronnie, Jack (Peggy), Gary (Darlene), Louise ( the late Larry) Cannon, Reba, and Betty, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth D. (Wickham) Johnson; his grandson, T. J. Maust; his brothers: Jerry, Buddy, Bobby, Jimmy, and Dennie Johnson; and his sister, Linda Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location, with Pastor Matt Stollings officiating. Archie will be laid to rest at Ashland County Memorial Park at a later date. Wappner Funeral Directors-Ashland is honored to serve the Johnson family.
