Jane Kenlyn Workman, age 82, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Aultman Hospital in Canton. She was born June 12, 1941, in Ashland, Ohio, one of six children of the late Maude (McManaway) and Emmett Wells.
Jane graduated from Ashland High School and attended Ashland College. She was the manager of the bookstore at Ashland College. She met Thomas Workman at Johnny’s Food Basket and they married on February 12, 1967, beginning a wonderful life together. Jane had a creative flair and enjoyed flowers, drawing and painting. She began researching her family’s genealogy and compiled most detailed life history. Jane was an extremely faithful woman and was very involved in her church, Ashland Emmanuel Methodist Church, in Sunday school, Bible classes and the nursery.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Workman; a daughter, Cindy (Keith) Rush; two grandchildren, Robert Ross and Samantha Ross; two great-granddaughters, Cambriella and Ziyamara; and a brother, David Wells.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Wappner Funeral Directors-Ashland, 308 Claremont Avenue. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Ashland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or Ashland Emmanuel Methodist Church.
