Patty was born on August 15, 1946, in New London, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Riesterer) Cline. Upon graduating from New London High School in 1964, she was employed with C.E. Ward Company until 1974. That same year she began a long career with Thomas Creative Apparel, where she became CFO and part owner in 1986 until her retirement in 2002.
After her retirement she enjoyed travelling with her husband Floyd in their camper. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dogs Sadie Sirah and Daisy Mayme. She also served as president of The Fond Memories Doll Club of Shelby, Ohio.
Surviving Patty are her husband Floyd Schaffer, sons Dan and Patrick White, grandchildren Sarah, Jacob and Hannah Ulm, Thea Taylor White, and Austin Ulm, great-grandchildren Deanna and Raeann White and Norah Josey, daughter-in-law Susan Ulm, sister-in-law Laura Cline, and niece Michelle Cline. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert Ulm, and brother David Cline.
No funeral service is planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
