Patricia M. (Blumenschein) Strine, age 95, died peacefully in her sleep at home Thursday, May 1, 2025. Born September 21, 1929, in Mansfield, OH, she was the daughter of Henry and Mary (Murphy) Blumenschein.
Patricia worked as a bookkeeper at the family-owned Ashland Rubber Mat Company and as a homemaker, raising seven children. Patricia was a lifelong member of St Edward’s Catholic Church of Ashland, enjoyed gardening and watching old movies, visiting with friends and family, and making the best comfort food and homemade pie.
She is survived by one daughter, Christine (Carl) Miletto of Ashland, Ohio and three sons, Tom (Nancy) Strine of Port Clinton, Ohio; Dan Strine (Rishat Iqbal) of California; and Patrick (Laurie) Strine of Ashland, Ohio. Also surviving are one sister, Margie (Lou) Krieg, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Gaylord R. Strine, whom she married July 23, 1949; daughter, Susan Jo Strine; daughter and son-in-law, Mary (Strine) and Mike Lefever; one son, John Strine; her brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Eileen Blumenschein; and her best friend, Imogene Yoho.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Ashland Cemetery, officiated by Father Rod Kreidler. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Edward Catholic Church of Ashland or The Cat House Feline Sanctuary of Ashland.
