

BEAZLEY, Donald Wallace, 85, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at his home, Clazemont, in Montpelier, VA. Don was born October 29, 1931 to Edmonia Byrd and Cuthbert Reynolds Beazley and was raised in Beaverdam, VA. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell L. Beazley; and grandson, Christopher Michael Beazley. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, June McGhee Beazley; his children, Donnie Beazley and wife Carol, Terri Beazley Flagg and husband Bryan, Michael Beazley and wife Kim and Kathi Beazley Thomasson and husband Tommy; his grandchildren, Justin Flagg, Travis Beazley, Austin Powell, Courtney Thomasson, Joshua Beazley, Jonathan Flagg and Steven Beazley; and his great-grandchildren, Aedan, Richie, Hazleigh, Walton and Beazley; sister, Mary B. Minor and husband John; niece, Debbie Smith and husband Garnett; and his great nieces and nephews. Don served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War, was an active member and past president of the Beaverdam Ruritan Club and was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He owned and operated his business, Atlee Construction, until he retired. In retirement he co-owned a greenhouse business, B&D Farms. Don was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and time on the river and was a great story teller. Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Beaverdam, VA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Virginia Whellin’ Sportsman, 17 Lake Haven Lane, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
