Edmond Thomas Lawrence Jr.

Edmond T. "Pete" Lawrence Jr., 80, of Ashland, passed away on August 28, 2017. He worked as a Brick Layer, Building Inspector, and Construction Site Manager. Pete was a lifetime member of Independence Christian Church serving as a trustee and deacon. He loved all sports and deer hunting. Pete is survived by his wife Shirley C. Lawrence; two daughters; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and his best friend, Skeeter. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 4-8 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11 am at Independence Christian Church, 14023 Independence Rd, Ashland, VA 23005. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Independence Christian Church. Arrangements under the direction of Nelsen Ashland, Ashland, VA.
