Ellen Deale Cooke, 80, of Ashland, passed away on July 12, 2018. Ellen was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Deale and was preceded in death by two sons, Clarence "Pete" Crisp, Jr. and James "Onion" Crisp, 3 brothers and a sister. She was an avid Bingo player and a member of the Moose. Ellen had a great passion for her work as a Cafeteria Work for Hanover County Public Schools and looked forward to being with the children every day. She is survived by her children, Roger Crisp (Cindy), Rose Hall (Joe), Anita Thomas (Brian); 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter; 4 great-granddaughters and 2 great-grandsons; 3 loving sisters, Margaret, Linda, and Evelyn and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 5-7pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005.
