He is survived by a son, James "Jamie" L. Stanley, III; a granddaughter, Jayden Stanley; a sister, Nancy Stanley; his son's mother, Robin Saunders; and several nieces and nephews.
James was a roofer for over forty years. He liked playing horseshoes and won trophies for competing. He also liked Word Search puzzles and NASCAR racing. James will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.
