I will remember Jim’s  fondness of young people and so remember his kind words about our family when we first started attending Independence Christian Church.  He had a very genuinely warm nature about him and made us feel very welcome when we didn’t know anyone. Now he his with his other loved ones. My prayers of healing continue for his family.

I am saddened to hear of Jim's passing.    I was always glad to see him at church and enjoyed spending time talking with him.   He made me feel like a friend and was always a gentleman.

Jim was one of the finest men I ever met. His compassion and laughter were his outstanding qualities.  And he always spoke of his children and grandchildren.  He was so proud of his family.

Sorry to hear of Jim's passing.  I worked with him a Patrick  Henery High school, and enjoyed working with him.  Lot of laughs,  good memory, Praying for the family, that God will give you strength to endure. 

I can't count how many memories I have of this gentleman and his family. Most of which were made because of his son and my son and their love of Hockey. A sport that our boys still enjoy together to this day. It all started when they were both 11 or 12 and ironically the last time I saw Jim was at a hockey game a few weeks ago. Jimmy and Chase(our boys)were playing in the Championship game of an adult beer league in Richmond.  Early on, when the boys were young, we traveled to practices,  league games and tournaments  that were all over the state and sometimes out of state. Many wins and loses! A lot of triumphs and disappointments. How many times the boys had to put up with Jim and I having discussions with officials and League Reps about how terrible they were! Me being the loudest usually! How many times we sat down together to enjoy watching our boys act like they were brothers, not just friends. The boys have their own families now and they enjoy their kids like Jim and I enjoyed ours. I will miss Jim although as the boys got older we didn't see each other as much but every time I did see him it was great! My deepest sympathy goes out to Debbie, Jimmy, Nicole and their families. May GOD wrap HIS hands around them and give them comfort. May all who have a memory of Jim share it with the family and rejoice that they could share. As I stated earlier, I have many and I will share best I can.

He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Ann Striano as well as his brother, Henry Striano.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Striano; children, Nicole Striano Lowe (Mathew) and James Michael Striano (Kirby); grandchildren, Rachel, Haylie, Evan, and Gavin; siblings, Peter, Diane, and Linda; and many other family members.
