Jessica Reneé Watson, 30, of Ashland VA, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 16th, 2020. She was born on December 12th, 1989 to James E. Watson and Theresa D. Watson. She was our beloved daughter, sister, partner, stepmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was her Mama’s Baby Girl and will be missed dearly.
Jessica graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 2008. Jessica treasured the simple things in life – good conversation, friendship, laughter, listening to music, and long walks in the woods. She had a passion for cooking innovative and creative dishes for her family. She was fond of caring for kids and was a talented violinist and avid gamer. She loved the rain, thunderstorms, fog, and the fall season and she found solace in the forest and the mountains. Although she really enjoyed Christmas, Halloween was her favorite time of the year.
Jessica is survived by her parents; her partner, Norman J. Parker; her stepchildren, Austin Parker and Vanessa Parker; her siblings Adam Carter, Chris Carter, Jamie Carter, Joey Carter, Crystal Mikeal; and her Grandmothers Nell Mills, and Gayle Parker and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her “Papa” Calvin Mills and “Pa” Norman Parker.
Visitation will be private with immediate family only, per her parent’s wishes. Jessica will be cremated, as was her request. To celebrate Jessica’s love for fall beauty, a memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on November 1st at Poor Farm Park- Shelter 1, 13400 Liberty School Rd., Ashland, VA 23005 followed by a celebration of life gathering.
