John Howard Samuels

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Shelby Marie Samuels and Bonna Forstmann, who are now joyfully reunited.

He is survived by his parents, Donald and Beverly Samuels, Son Holden Samuels, Daughter Ashley Crawley (Cody), Brother Gary Samuels (Arleen), Brother-in-law Lynn Forstmann, Nieces and Nephew Kylie Felts (Jay), Courtney Forstmann (Paul), Jacob Samuels, and four legged friend Gus.

John was a loving son, brother, father, and friend known for his big heart, captivating smile, and beautiful eyes. He was an avid hunter, grew up farming, enjoyed watching/playing sports throughout his life, and worked many years running heavy machinery for local businesses. People will remember John for always lending a helping hand, his honest personality, funny demeanor, and love for friends and family. In lieu of flowers or making a charitable donation, in honor of John, please reach out to your loved ones, call them, go see them, tell them how much you love them, and lend them a helping hand when you can.

Relatives and friends are invited to John's visitation on Tuesday, November 18th, from 5-8 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy. Ashland, VA 23005.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 19th, at

1 pm at Taylorsville Baptist Church, 15415 Taylorsville Rd. Doswell, VA 23047. Interment will be private.
