JOHNSON, Julian Clyde Jr., 96, of Ashland, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on August 16, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Jean Turner Johnson; children, Julie Ann Bookheimer and her husband, Duane, Barry Clyde Johnson and his wife, Ana; grandchildren, Ashley Ann Stone, Madison Leigh Bookheimer, Joshua Edwin Bookheimer; sister, Elsie J. Nichols. Clyde was a member of Ashland Presbyterian Church. He proudly served his Country in the Air Force during WWII. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005, where the service will take place at 11am on Friday, August 19, 2016. Interment will be at Kenwood United Methodist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ashland Presbyterian Church, 401 Virginia St., Ashland, VA 23005.
