

She was a dear friend to everyone whom she met along her life’s journey of 100 years. She was a devoted member of Carmel Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member. She was a dedicated employee throughout her career, retiring from Westminster Canterbury at age 78. She was known for her faith, strength and wisdom and she passed this along to her beloved daughters and beyond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis G. Fleming; her parents, L. Clarence Goodwin and Annie Pearl Goodwin; her sisters, Joyce Barker Hawkins and Annie Byrd Beazley; her daughters, Judith Fleming Hawkins and Barbara Fleming Webber (son-in-law, Billy Webber).
She is survived by her grandchildren, Elizabeth Hawkins (Jeffrey), Krista Bourne (Bennie, her devoted and beloved grandson-in-law), Leah Escobar, Lauren Phillips (Michael); great- grandchildren, Alexander (Karen), Katelyn (Kody), Daniel, Emily, Dylan, Bradley, Justin, Madison and Penny; son-in-law, Max Hawkins; nieces, Catherine Lauterbach and Elizabeth Willoughby; nephew, David Beazley; cousins, and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 1p.m. to 5 p.m. on January 4th, 2026 at Nelsen Funeral Home- Reid Chapel, Ashland, VA. A celebration of Margaret’s life, officiated by Pastor Gerald Castlebury, will be held on January 5th, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Carmel Baptist Church, 24320 US Route 1, Ruther Glen, VA 22546.
