Marie Theresa (Savage) Davidson born January 20, 1937, went to join our Lord on April 1, 2016 at the age of 79. Marie was born on the Innoko River in their trap line camp delivered by her grandmother to Pius and Ellen Savage, Sr. She was the eldest of 15 children. Marie was a very beautiful and thoughtful person, she was an avid homemaker who loved her husband, children and family. She always talked about living in the fish camp with her parents, maternal grandparents (Aneska and Nicholi Savage) and aunts and uncles, but mostly had fond memories of spending time with her grandma and grandpa. She later moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where she met her husband David when he was stationed in the military. They married a little after and moved to Pennsylvania and then to Virginia where they made their home. She came to visit in May of 2002 where she got to spend time with her mother, brothers and sisters, and got to meet some of the many nieces and nephews. Marie is survived by her husband, David of 60 years, her four sons, Bobby and fiancée Mary, Darrell wife Cindy, Danny wife Tammy, and Steven and fiancé Stephanie, her 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Her brothers; Pius Jr. wife Mable, Greg wife Connie, Leonard, Ed and his wife Mary, and Robert Savage. Sisters; Dorothy Joseph and husband Angus, Grace Hedlund and husband Dennis, Agnes Jackson and husband Garrett, Jean Jorgensen and husband Marty, Judy Savage and her husband Dustin Hardwick, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pius Savage Sr. and Ellen Savage; brothers, Patrick and Mike Savage; sisters, Mary Agatha Devany, Mary Edith Savage, and her baby sister Judith Savage who passed as a child in the late 1040's. As we say goodbye to Marie, we have to remember the life she lived and the many hearts she touched, remember her hugs, her laughter, her joy and her heart. Marie will always be remembered with loving thoughts and many, many beautiful memories. As we grieve our loss, remember the promise of everlasting life and God's word that whoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life, Marie believed in God. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland VA 23005. Reception will follow.
