Melanie Coulson Lloyd

Melanie was born October 18,1974 and raised in Hanover County. She was a 1992 graduate of Patrick Henry High School and received an Associates Degree in Business from Braxton School of Business in Richmond, VA. Melanie worked in customer service, specializing in promotions, for Edy's Ice Cream for 16 years. She then worked as a promotions coordinator for Carpenter Company until 2019.

Melanie began a long battle with Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma at the age of 29. She fought so hard for so long and never turned down a new treatment or time with her family, no matter how bad she was feeling. She loved watching her son play baseball in his younger years, enjoyed celebrating her daughter's accomplishments in drag racing, and spending time with her loved ones at the beach and race track.

She leaves behind the love of her life, Chris, and their wonderful children, Brandon (Rachel) and Allison (Sean Serra), her fur babies Bentley & Neo, as well as tons of family & friends she loved & cherished.

Melanie always said you should enjoy life and be happy because things can change in a minute, and that everything will be okay!

The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy. Ashland, VA 23005. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Nelsen Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd.. Hanover, VA 23069.
