Mic was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Melvin Hudson and Barbara Hudson, and his paternal grandparents, Edith Brown and Preston Geter.
At a young age, Mic made it clear that he was going to grow up to be a military man, just like his Grandpa Melvin Hudson. His dream came true when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and completed basic training at Paris Island in 2017. He was in Charlie Company of the 1st Battalion, 6th Marines (1/6) stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. His military occupational specialty (MOS) was 0311 Infantry Rifleman. Mic proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal, receiving an honorable discharge. His primary military specialty was 0311 Rifleman, and he carried the discipline and pride of his service throughout his life. He later worked as a supervisor for Home Depot, where he was respected for his leadership and strong work ethic.
A graduate of Patrick Henry High School, he was actively involved in track and field and the NJROTC, where he developed the determination and camaraderie that stayed with him throughout his life. In his free time, Mic enjoyed playing video games, watching anime, working on cars, and spending time outdoors. He is best known for his hearty laugh, quick witted responses, and always offering a helping hand all while saying. "Muh leg hurt!" Mic was a simple man that loved hard and treasured the time he spent with his family and loved ones.
Mic is survived by his loving parents, Gwen Hudson-Geter and Philip Geter; his cherished sisters, Diamond Hudson and Savannah Geter; as well as other siblings on his father’s side. He also leaves behind a precious legacy in his unborn daughter, Akira Hudson Geter, who is expected in the coming months and was already deeply loved by her father.
Mic will be remembered for his loyalty, strength, and the love he had for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to Mic's visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA, on Saturday, March 21st, from 1 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 2 PM. Interment will be held at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA, on Tuesday, March 24th at 11 AM.
In remembrance of Mic's love for family, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be directed to the upcoming registry for Baby Girl Geter. Details regarding the registry and how to contribute will be shared by his family in the coming weeks.
