
Glenn had a deep love for fishing, whether saltwater or freshwater—if there was a line to cast, he was happy. He was also a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, loyal through every season. Known for his quick wit and easygoing nature, Glenn had a way of connecting with people effortlessly. His humor and relatability made him someone others felt comfortable around, and he will be remembered for the laughs he shared and the conversations that came easily in his presence.
Glenn worked for Bailey’s Plumbing Heating & Cooling for approximately 24 years, where he was more than just a coworker—he considered everyone there his family. The relationships he built and the pride he took in his work were an important part of his life.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie Pauline Carter, and Thomas Carter; his daughter, Samantha Gayle Carter; and his beloved dog, a black Labrador named Ace, who passed away a few years earlier.
He is survived by his son, Ryan G. Carter; his grandson, Christian Carter; his brothers, Thomas Carter and his wife Alison, and Mark Carter and his wife Michelle; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Glenn's visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA, on Saturday, January 24th, from 10 AM until the time of service in the chapel at 11 AM. Interment will follow at King's Chapel Cemetery in Doswell, VA, where Glenn will be placed near his parents.
Glenn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him and fondly remembered for the simple joys he embraced and the warmth he brought into the lives of others.
