

Roy Douglas Sale Sr., age 80, of Hanover, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Vivian (Totsy) Sale; parents Frances Spencer Sale and Taylor Garnet Sale, son, David Spencer Sale and sister Diane Sale Willis. He was survived by his children Roy Douglas Sale, Jr. (Elizabeth), Karen Sale, and Teresa Sale Russell; cherished grandchildren Regina Conyard, Taylor Bowens (Devin), Tony Doersch; great-grandchildren Joshua Conyard and Harper Bowens; siblings Laura Mae Seat, T. G. "Sonny" Sale (Yvonne), Richard Sale (Catherine), Joy Monger (Jerry).
Roy was a realtor for Hometown Realty and a member of Taylorsville Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and was quite successful in his youthful drag racing days along with his brother Sonny. Roy also made great friends in the NASCAR community and was a friend and strong supporter of The Intimidator. He was a "man's man" with a quick wit and generosity in helping others with repairs. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix! Roy became an expert at wrangling and raising black angus cattle at his farm in Studley, Virginia along with his cherished wife Totsy. A true "salesman" at heart, he sold life insurance, Zep products and real estate, earning several awards with Hometown Realty.
Relatives and friends are invited to Roy's visitation on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the same location at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Taylorsville Baptist Church Cemetery, 15415 Taylorsville Rd, Doswell, VA 23047.
