WOODSON, Mr. Roy Lewis, of Ashland, Virginia, went home to Christ on August 28, 2021, passing from this Earth just a few yards from where he entered it 95 years ago. A self-made farmer, he dedicated his life to tending to and caring for God’s creations. A Christian gentleman and servant to his community, he was a lifelong member of Forest Grove United Methodist Church and served in various leadership positions in the Elmont Ruritan Club.
Roy is survived by his beautiful wife of 69 years, Nancy. He was a loving father of Steven and Susan and a proud grandfather of four grandsons and great-grandfather of six. He will be joining his two brothers James and Kenneth in eternal rest.
A visitation for Roy will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. The family welcomes all to a funeral service and burial on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Forest Grove United Methodist Church, 13384 Ashland Road, Ashland, VA 23005.
