Wanda was born October 30, 1953 in Eagle Rock, Virginia to Alfred R. and Mae Coffey who preceded her in death. Wanda was raised in a small country home surrounded by the mountains of Botetourt County. She was one of ten siblings raised in a loving Christian home, forming a very close and special bond with her family.
Wanda graduated from James River High School in 1972 and attended Dabney Lancaster College. After graduation she began her career as a credit analyst, but her passion and drive caused her to excel in the corporate world, eventually becoming the President of a large company. During her time as President, she worked hard and gained extensive knowledge. Wanda decided to branch out and form her own company, Premiere Colors, with her dear friend and business partner Susan Hindman. There was no doubt she was driven and self-made. Wanda also obtained a Virginia Real Estate License, served on the Richmond Postal Customer Council, and the U.S. Postal Service Council in Washington, D.C.
Wanda had a passion for traveling with friends and family and enjoyed antiques and coin collecting. Faith played a major role in Wanda’s life, she was recently asked to serve on a committee at Taylorsville Baptist Church which she was so honored to be a part of. After retirement, she devoted her time and energy to her loving family. Wanda will be remembered for her charm, quick wit and a smile that would brighten any given moment. She was a loving, caring person, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, always thinking of others first. She had such a kind and companionate spirit, to know her was to love her.
