William Henry Short Jr.

Short, William H. “Bill”, Jr., 76, of Beaverdam, passed away on November 3, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Helen H. Short. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia M. “Ginny” Short; children, Elizabeth S. Watson (Thomas), Patricia S. Good (David), and William H. Short III (Sheri); seven grandchildren, Thomas J. Watson, Jr., William Patrick Watson, Adam B. Good (Jessy), Alexsa M. Good, Nathaniel B. Good, Katelyn Short, and Lauren Short; two great grandchildren, Autumn Good and A.J. Good; and a sister, Helen S. Brooks (Dugald). William was the Vice President of Human Resources for Mobil Oil and more recently employed by Hanover County Social Services. He was a member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier, VA, a member of WHEAT, Hanover Habitat for Humanity, and a Mason. He was a board member of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church. Interment will be at a later date.
