Dad moved to Coronach to be a lab and x-ray technician, where he met Doreen, our mom. They married in 1958. They purchased a farm across from mom’s parents and raised three children: Lorreen, Dean and Gay. Dad loved farming and raising his own cattle and pigs. He helped mom with her greenhouse which brought them lots of joy and coffee chats. Dad and Mom’s favourite time of year was Christmas, as it was the time of year we always got together. They took a week to decorate the house, making sure it looked especially good for the whole gang. Sadly, Mom passed away in 2019. Dad stayed on the farm until his death in November. We are sure he is happy now, to be with Mom and not in any more pain.
Funeral Service was held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Coronach Community Hall, Linda Kirby officiated, soloist Linda Poirier. Pallbearers were his grandchildren. Donations in memory of Art may be made to charity of donor’s choice. Following the Interment at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, everyone gathered to view a slide show and joined the family in fellowship and lunch.
