Dale Wagner, aged 76 years of Coronach, Saskatchewan, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017. Dale was born on July 27, 1940, the second son of Fred and Lola (Dunn) Wagner at Rockglen, SK. Dale grew up on a farm just outside of Fife Lake and spent many of his early years living with his grandparents on a ranch near Mankota. Dale graduated from High School in 1959, and went on to attend School of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan. He started farming at Fife Lake in 1961 and also farmed his grandfather’s land south of McCord. Dale met Sandra Magee and they married in 1966. They lived in Calgary and Nanaimo for a time and then purchased a farm 10 km west of Coronach where they moved to in 1968. They raised four children on the farm. Dale was a dedicated and very hard worker raising cattle and growing crops. He was very particular about his yard, garden and crops, ensuring no weeds were to be found. He enjoyed hosting family reunions and gatherings of friends and he loved to bluff his way through a good card game. Tinkering on his family’s 1949 John Deere tractor was a favourite past time. In the winter months Dale and Sandra were snowbirds, tail-gunning caravans to Mexico and 5th wheeling to Desert Hot Springs, California. They adventured to many parts of the world including Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Central America and most recently Russia, Switzerland and Iceland. Dale is predeceased by his parents Fred and Lola Wagner, sister Jayne Fagan and son Kevin. Dale will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Sandra, daughters Robyn and Tammy, and his grandchildren. He will also be missed by his brother Jack, sister Kim as well as nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral Service was held Friday, May 19, 2017 with Dale’s dear friends Linda Kirby, Marilyn Remoue and Hans Zoller presiding. Tribute was presented in power point, Kim Ross and Robyn speaking. Coronach Kinsmen charter members Gary Duncan, Garry Nelson, Don Kirby, Scotty Peacock, John Foley, Mervin Colibaba and Gerald Cairns were pallbearers. Interment followed at the Fife Lake Municipal Cemetery. Donations were gratefully accepted for Kinsmen Telemiracle. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.
