Dora McKenzie

Dora McKenzie, of Mossbank, SK passed away December 14, 2012 at age 83. Dora was the 3rd child of Jacob and Mary Paschinski and sister to Veronika, John and Michael. Dora attended school at Green Bay, Thornhill and Moose Jaw. On January 13, 1949 she married Berton McKenzie and became the stepmother to William and Gordon.

Dora was an accomplished seamstress, cake decorator and homemaker. She took great pride in feeding anyone who came to her home, animal or human. Her baking was legendary. Dora was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star. She enjoyed every office that she held. Dora was a founding member of the Ettington, Thornhill and Center Ridge rural hospital auxiliaries. Dora was a leader for the United Church Messengers group. Her relationship with the United Church continued in various capacities for the remainder of her life. Donations in Memory of Dora may be made to the SK Cancer Agency – Cancer Research or to the SK Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A service to celebrate Dora’s life will be held on May 25 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Mossbank United Church, Mossbank, SK. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.
