

Edith Jane Weiss passed away on December 8, 2020. Edith was born near Mazenod, SK. She married Henry Weiss on October 29, 1955 and together, on the family farm near Mossbank, raised five children. She was the most kind-hearted person you could ever meet. Her family meant everything to her. She loved playing cards, board games, and getting together with family. Edith was predeceased by her husband Henry, her parents, Charles and Ivy Beckett, her sister Louise Zezula, her brothers Fred and George, her grandson Michael Peters and son-in-law Derek Peters. She is survived by her children: Helen (Bert) Green, Art (Judy) Weiss, Linda Peters, Betty (Lyle) McGillivray, Kathleen (Corey) Lascelle, 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, her sister Helen (Stu) Greensides, and brother Bill and Joe Beckett, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to the current covid-19 situation a Funeral Service for the family was held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm in Trinity Lutheran Church, Mossbank, Saskatchewan. Pastor Doug Miner officiated. Scripture Readers were Grandchildren Leslie Weiss, Lori Weiss; Tribute presented by Betty McGillivray, Poems read by Linda Peters, Kathy Lascelle; Grandmother’s Prayer read by Grandchildren Katelyn, Chaylene, Krystalynn Lascelle. CD Hymn Selections played were‘Take My Hand, Precious Lord, Lead Me Home’, ‘What A Friend We Have In Jesus’, ‘God Be With You Till We Meet Again’. Honorary Pallbearers were Ken Schick, Rick Voisin, Dale Robb. Pallbearers were Grandchildren: Robert Green, Jon Peters, Lori Weiss, Leslie Weiss, Rylee Lascelle, and Matthew McGillivray. Interment followed at the Mossbank Cemetery, Mossbank, SK. Donations in Memory of Edith may be made to Mike Peters Visual Arts Scholarship c/o Peacock High School, Moose Jaw, SK.
