Elva 'Sally' Frances Hanson

Elva ‘Sally’ Hanson, of Bengough, SK, passed away November 18, 2014 at age 97. The memories she leaves her family will be cherished forever. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Kaj) Olsen, grandson Shawn (Haley, their children Braton and Kaiden), granddaughter Janel (her daughter Maraya Fazakas), her special nieces and nephews. Elva was predeceased by parents, George and Letita Evans, husband Elmer (Al) Hanson, daughter Patricia Frank, brother John Evans, sister-in-law Eva Evans, and sons-in-law Arnold Volke and John Frank.

Elva Frances Hanson was born October 9, 1917. She and her brother John attended Lambton School. On October 20, 1939 she married Elmer Hanson at Scobey, Montana. Elva will be remembered for her love of family, her involvement with community and Knox United Church. She will be remembered by her kindness, generosity, independence and handiwork over her many gracious years. Family would like to thank staff of the Bengough Health Centre for their care and friendship which became her home in 2011. We Love You.

Funeral Service was held Monday, November 24, 2014 in Knox United Church, Bengough, Sk. Marie Barr LPM officiated. Tribute was given by Haley. Pallbearers were: Shawn Olsen, Scott Pratt, Raymond Nergard, Karl Nergard, Jeff Nergard and Eugene Hoffard. Bengough Community Choir was accompanied by organist, Jean Little. Interment followed at the Bengough Cemetery. Donations in Memory of Elva may be made to the Bengough Health Centre Ladies Auxiliary. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.
