Florence Leippi

Florence Leippi passed peacefully on February 16, 2023 at the age of 92. She was born on August 16, 1930 on a homestead in the RM of Sutton, near Mazenod, SK. She lived in her own home up until August of 2022 and was quite independent right to the end.

Florence was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Art W. Leippi of Lajord, SK and by her brother, Harry Rogers. She is survived by her sons Ken and Jeff (Pauline) and by her daughter, Rhonda (Tim) Herauf, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Lorraine Skarra, and her brother and sister-in-law Richard and Barb Leippi, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

At Florence’s request there will no public funeral service. A Family Celebration of Life will take place later.

Florence loved life in the country, especially anything to do with horses, livestock and/or farming. In addition to her many contributions to the family farm, she also worked at a bank early on in her adult life, and later she worked in accounting and bookkeeping. She loved numbers and excelled at math. She was an avid reader. We, her family, had a hard time keeping her supplied with books. She read them faster than we could bring them.

We would like to sincerely thank Allison and the staff at Prairie Villa in Assiniboia, where Florence lived for the last six months. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Assiniboia Hospital for their excellent care, and to the paramedics from Hutch Ambulance. She was treated like a member of the family by them all.
