It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Lutz, of Fife Lake, SK, on February 11, 2014 at age 52. Predeceased by his father Lawrence (1999), Gary is survived by his mother Edna Lutz (nee Kessler), his children Madison and Maggie, one sister Lori (Brian) Sprott and their children Lance, Dane, Reid and Kali as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Gary Peter John Lutz was born June 16, 1961 in Rockglen, SK. He grew up on the Lutz family farm in the Fife Lake area and attended Rockglen School. But being the soul he was, he didn’t care for school so at a fairly young age he decided he would rather work. He worked at many jobs throughout the years, but always maintained working on the farm alongside his Mom & Dad. In the early 1980’s, he started working in the grocery store in Rockglen where he learned the trade of cutting meat. After a few years at that, he opened his own butcher shop in Fife Lake. He later decided to move the shop to the farm. Gary and his Mom worked side by side, spending many hours together cutting meat. He was very particular and took great pride in the work he did. The very best sausage was made by Gary! After many years in the meat business, he felt he needed a change and went to work on the pipeline, which he continued to do till a couple of years ago. He had many loves; family, friends, horses, hunting, music, dancing and having a good time. His greatest loves were his two daughters, Madison and Maggie. “The Girls” as he would refer to them, meant the world to him. Gary was one of a kind, always there for his girls or a friend in need. Truly a man with a heart of gold. Oh, how he will be missed. Funeral Service was held Monday, February 17, 2014 in the Rockglen Community Hall, Rockglen, SK. Reverend Marilyn Leuty officiated. Interment to follow in the Fife Lake Municipal Cemetery, Fife Lake, SK. Donations in Memory of Gary may be made to Educational Trust Fund for Madison and Maggie c/o any Conexus Credit Union Branch. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.rossfuneralservice.com.
