Harold was the third child, and eldest son of John & Amina (Minnie) Anderson of Lafleche, Sask.
He was born and raised in Lafleche on the family homestead, established 1909. He attended Happy Hill School. He farmed and worked in the Lafleche community all his life, aside from the last five years where he resided the last three years at the Ross Payant Centennial Care Home in Assiniboia. He was a member and long time Councillor and President of the Lafleche United Church Board, volunteer and Board Member of the Lafleche Heritage Museum. He was a true example of “stewardship”. He was married January 1990 and divorced 1996, no children. He enjoyed travelling and saw much of the world. He loved Thomson Lake; enjoying boating, fishing and water skiing. He was an athlete, participating in down-hill skiing, bowling, shuffleboard, ball and curling. His most memorable occasion was the time he farmed with his Dad, John.
He leaves to mourn his brother Carl “Andy” Anderson (Elaine) of Delta, B.C., and his sister May Isobel Oxx III of Northridge, California; his nieces: Kristin Anderson of Delta, B.C., Katherine (Graham) Walker of North Vancouver, B.C., Sherri Oxx (Barry Smith) of Thousand Oaks, California, Linda Wagner (Iwan Saunders) of Calgary, AB, Anita Ford , Brenda Collacott and Crystal Wagner (Kevin Werner) of Regina, Sk.; nephews: Will Oxx IV (Sidney) of Thousand Oaks, California, Jonathan Oxx of Westlake Village, California, and Ted Wagner of Regina, Sk; his Aunt, Pearl Anderson of Emerald Park, Sk. as well as numerous cousins, great and great-great nieces and nephews, and a dear friend and companion Bonnie Rasmussen and her family of Assiniboia.
He was predeceased by his older sisters Doris Wagner and Ruby Anderson-Wagner, brothers-in-law Ewald Wagner, and Bill Oxx III, and Kurtis Anderson; nephew, as well as his parents, uncles and aunts, and nephews-in-law.
A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at the Lafleche United Church, on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11 am. Interment at the Lafleche Municipal Cemetery to follow lunch. Flowers gratefully declined, donations accepted for the Lafleche United Church, the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of their choice.
