Harvey Marcel Joseph Palmier

Harvey Marcel Palmier,a farmer and lifetime resident of the Lafleche district, passed away October 30, 2015 at the family homestead, Lafleche, SK. Predeceased by his parents Andre and Cecile Palmier; siblings: Denise (Joseph) Morin, George, brother-in-law Gary Strieb. Harvey is survived by his wife Deanna, children: Kristin (Sylvain) Lapierre, Colin and Sheldon, granddaughter Sara Lapierre, siblings: Leo (Joan), Gilbert (Elizabeth), Gisele (Doug) Harding, Laurette Strieb, Jospeh, Bernadette (Leopold) Morin, Francis (Holly), Stella Palmier (Linda Suttle), and Henri (Marie) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Harvey was born January 30, 1957 at Lafleche, SK. He attended both elementary and high school in Lafleche. He then attended the U. of S. and completed vocational agriculture in 1978. Harvey returned to Lafleche and worked on the family farm. In 1978, Harvey married Deanna Kiel. They lived on a farm south of Melaval until 1982, when they moved to his parents homestead south of Lafleche and continued to farm. They also had a home in Lafleche, where they resided for the winter months. In 1991 they purchased a cottage at Thomson Lake and enjoyed the cottage style summer life. Harvey enjoyed the rural way of life, skiing, hockey and boating and family celebrations. Funeral Mass was held Saturday, November 14, 2015 in Ste. Radegonde Roman Catholic Church, Lafleche, SK. Celebrant was Father Hope Klutsey. Son, Colin lit the Pascal Candle. Readers were: Sarah Urano, Megan Strieb and Gregory Kiel. Tribute was given by Wayne Emmons. Music Ministry was led by Betty-Ann and friends. Interment followed at Ste. Radegonde Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lafleche, SK. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.
