Marie Reine Rita Rainville

Marie was born May 27, 1942, on the family homestead near Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan. She was one of the twelve children born to Viateur and Rose Eva Forest. Raised on family farm in the Willow Bunch district, she completed her schooling there before moving into town, where she lived for many years.

Marie married Roland (Pete) Rainville on November 1, 1969. They had two daughters, Laurette and Angele. Her husband passed away on March 24, 1993. A few years later she made her home in Assiniboia with her sister Marguerite and brother Albert. Together, all three shared a love in gardening and doing a variety of crafts. Marie had many hobbies she took great joy in, including visiting her daughters, playing cards, puzzles, cooking, canning and traveling.

After living in Assiniboia for a few years, Marie moved to Moose Jaw to be closer to her children. Marie enjoyed playing cards, dancing, visiting family and friends, doing puzzles and cooking.

For the past two and half years, Marie resided at the Ross Payant Nursing Home. She was very appreciative of the exceptional care she received and often spoke warmly about the staff. She cherished every moment spent with family and friends and always looked forward to their visits.

Marie will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, her smile and her love for those around her.

Marie is survived by two daughters, Laurette Rainville and Angele Rainville (Randy), both of Regina; one sister, Rita Leroy, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Roland (Pete), siblings Denis, Poncho, Doris Lavallée, Roger, Albert, Florent, Lionel, Claire Willey, Thèrése Epp and Marguerite Frigon,

A graveside service was held March 14, 2026, at St. Ignace Roman Catholic Cemetery, Willow Bunch, SK. Donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.
