Senia Duelien

Senia (Sonja) Duelien (nee Soini) passed away April 27, 2023 at Moose Jaw Special Care Home, Moose Jaw, SK at the age of 100 years. She was born October 15, 1922 at Tantellan, SK. Senia grew up in the Moosomin area. She became a hairdresser and moved to Brandon during the war. There she met Ron Duelien, who was stationed at Brandon. They married in 1946 and made their home on the farm in the Readlyn area. Senia and Ron had two children, Wanda and Kirk. In 1969, they moved to Assiniboia. They divorced. In 1970, she met Emil Pilsner and a year later became his partner and companion. They travelled to Alaska, the Atlantic Ocean, Vancouver and Washington. They also enjoyed dancing. Following Emil’s death in 1999, Senia remained in Rockglen for a time, eventually moving to Moose Jaw.

Predeceased by daughter Wanda Gessner (July 2009), one brother and two sisters, Senia is survived by son Kirk; four grandchildren: Darrell, Patricia, Kristopher and Devan and five great-grandchildren: Karson, Paige, Brooks, Jada and Ben. Graveside service was held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 11:00 am at Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK.
