

Rosa Flores was born on September 21, 1934 at home in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. She lived in Puerto Rico until she was 12 years old and then moved to Brooklyn until she was 18 years old. She was the oldest of five siblings; her one sister Lucy, and 3 brothers Joseph, Felipe and Joey. She helped raise her siblings.
She resided in Woodside, NY and had a love for dancing.
She was married November 21, 1954 to Edward J. Flores at City Hall in New York City. They had two children, Edward Jr. and Noreen. They have four grandchildren, Cristina, Natalie, Raymond and Joshua. They have two great grandchildren, Darian and Michael.
Ms. Flores graduated public high school I Brooklyn, NY in 1954. Along with being an accomplished dancer in high school, her favorite class was Biology. Her best friends were Irma, Norma and Betsy.
Shw worked as a Sales woman, waitress, NY telephone operator and home attendant. She retired in 1984. Her hubbies included reading about natural health, remedies, organic food and supplements.
She was a life long registered Democrat. She was a member of St. Cecelia's Roman Catholic Church for 15 years.
Ms. Flores' favorite vacation was when she went back to Puerto Rico to visit her mother, aunts and family.
During retirement, Ms. Flores enjoyed going out with her husband, Edward. They would go out to eat, go to the theatre, visit Astoria Park and go to Coney Island.
Ms. Flores died at her home of natural causes and of a broken heart due to prior death of her beloved husband Eddie of 58 years, who died in 2012.
Ms. Flores is survived by her children Edward Jr. and Noreen, grandchildren Cristina, Natalie, Raymond and Joshua, and great grandchildren Darian and Michael.
Services will be held at Most Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church and she will be laid to rest at St. Michael's Cemetery.
