Austrebertha Moreno Zuniga, age 92, of Atascadero, California passed away on Sunday August 18, 2019. Austrebertha was born February 10, 1927 in Villa Escobedo (minas nuevas) to Apolonio Moreno and Dolores de las Casa. She was raised in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua. Austrebertha married a world war 2 solider she met visiting in her home town. The young couple soon moved to Hollister, California. Finally she settled in Atascadero, California where Austrebertha and her sisters opened and successfully ran 'The Atascadero Tamale Factory' for over 30 years. She loved to cook, especially for others. She also loved to read and she enjoyed stimulating conversations on various topics. Austrebertha will be remembered for her many talents, one being her beautiful voice and the way she would sing with her family. She was a member of the Republican Lady's Society and an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Austrebertha is survived by two sisters, Enriqueta Sanchez, Verdin of Chihuahua and Maria Torres of Mexico City and many nieces and nephews who have wonderful memories of spending summer's with their Auntie Bertha.
