Cameron Baxter Chubb, born October 1, 1993 in San Luis Obispo, California, passed away in a tragic accident on Monday, March 21, 2016 in Avila Beach, California at the age of 22. Cameron was born in San Luis Obispo and raised on the Central Coast. He attended school in both north and south county, spending most of his elementary years at Grover Beach Elementary, then attending Judkins Jr. High, his first year of high school at Arroyo Grande High, and the remainder of his high school years at Huntington Beach High School, where he made a huge impact not only on the school, but the carbon footprint of the earth. He quickly realized Huntington High did not have a recycling program. He was co-founder and President of the Sustainable Living Club, which ended up being so successful they turned it into an elective. The funds from recycling paper, bottles, and cans was put back into a garden at the school, at Cameron's request. He spent much of his time there. He absolutely loved organic gardening and was excellent at it! His garden will continue to grow at his grandparents house. He was also on the surf team at Huntington High the entire time he was there and loved being in the water. He was absolutely fearless! He loved working with his hands and was the fastest, most efficient, skilled worker you could hope for. Cameron was the type of guy who got things done! He was also an amazing chef and delighted family and friends with his delicious cooking. He loved being outdoors and camping. Cameron will be most remembered for his sense of humor, his beautiful and chaotic mind, and his love for family. Cameron is survived by his mother, Amy Baxter, his father, Christopher Chubb, his brother, United States Navy Sailor Jake Baxter-Chubb, stepmother Rolene Chubb, sisters Lizzie and Alice Chubb, his girlfriend Kayla Phillips and their beautiful baby girl, Cambria Eloise, grandparents Clifford and Carolee Chubb and Patrick and Judy Baxter, too many aunts, uncles, and cousins to count and of course all his friends he counted as family. You're ok now Chubby. Everything's ok. We love you. Rest easy.
