Christopher Clyde Grimes SR, 58, of Atascadero, California, passed away peacefully, Easter Sunday, April 5th, 2015 in his bed by the side of his significant other of 35 years (Wendy Knight). Christopher was born February 10th, 1957 in Santa Barbara, California to Louie and Malenia Grimes. He was a lover of all things music, particularly his love for the guitar. Christopher was a skilled landscaper and irrigation specialist. He and Wendy would often share their love of landscaping by working on their front yard, backyard, and garden together. He enjoyed sports and often watched the NFL games on the weekends, notably he was a long time fan and would always cheer for the Seattle Seahawks. Fortunately, he was able to witness his team go all the way in the 2013 season when they defeated the Denver Broncos to win Super Bowl XlVlll. Christopher is survived by his two sons Christopher Clyde Grimes Jr. and Fred Raymond Knight of Atascadero, California; His three grandchildren Melina, Devra and Elora; Sister Lana Renfro of Spanaway, Washington, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Louie and Malenia, and his sister Marlene Jones. The family and friends of Christopher have decided that they would honor his last wishes and not hold a service. Instead, they have decided to hold a wake and celebrate the good memories that they all had with him. A time has yet to be officially set for the wake, but you can keep in contact with the staff at Chapel of the Roses as the Grimes family will be updating them with date and time.
