James “Jim” Robert Brainard born on April 7, 1934 in Springfield, MA. Passed Away on November 28, 2017 in Atascadero, CA. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, a daughter, step daughter, step son and many grand and great grandchildren. Jim worked at the Atascadero State Hospital for 18 years as a psych tech. Prior to working at The Hospital he served our country as a Marine in the armed forces. Jim enjoyed gardening, communing with nature, pets and animals. He practiced martial arts training and meditation. He also enjoyed reading, all music, and Native American drumming. He loved conversation and family time. He had a wonderful sense of humor and deep devotion to his loved ones. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 9th from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Hummingbird House, 4015 Almond Drive, Templeton, CA.
